Demand has been so high for warm Winter coats this year that we're extending our Leeds Winter Coat Appeal.
We've had such an amazing response so far - with people donating over 3,600 warm coats that have now been shared with local people via warm hubs across the city, saving families around £70,000 this winter.
You can read more on Leeds City Council's media release about Leeds Winter Coat Appeal.
Thanks to support from Leeds City Council, we're really pleased to say that we are reopening the donations campaign from today.
This time we're also looking for donations of fleeces and hoodies, as well as warm coats in child and adult sizes.
We'll welcome donations of good quality, second hand coats, fleeces and hoodies in all sizes - but particularly in children's sizes as we didn't get as many children's coats as we needed last time.
As before, all donations will be made available free of charge on coat rails in community hubs and warm hubs - easily available to be picked up by anyone who needs them.
All we ask is that the items are in good condition, clean and with a functioning zip.
Where can I donate a warm coat, fleece or hoodie?
You can drop off coats, fleeces and hoodies at the following community organisations and warm hubs. Each of these venues has a rail where they will share donated coats, hoodies and fleeces free of charge with anyone who wants one.
A number of leisure centres are also accepting donations - which we will collect and then redistribute via warm hubs and community groups. They are also listed in the document below.
