The problem
More families are struggling financially as a result of the cost of living crisis. This can be a barrier to getting involved in activites - negatively impacting both physical and mental health. Sports kit and equipment is expensive - with some families struggling to afford kit for their children to take part in PE & other activities.
Our solution
Working with key stakeholders we designed Together For Sport - taking inspiration from the people-powered approach behind Leeds School Uniform Exchange. We encourage peer-to-peer sharing of kit, and have worked with local sports clubs to encourage them to make it easier for people to offer and access good quality second-hand kit.
Our impact
Children will have the kit and equipment they need to take part in sport and activities, they will be fitter both physically and mentally and they will have access to all the social benefits sport brings with bigger networks and more opportunities making Leeds a better place to live.
